Doug RoweAs an employee of TIE starting in 1991, my work assignments/activities/responsibilities have dramatically changed over the last sixteen years. During the first four years, I basically was out-of-the-office 50% of the time (averaging 112 days and 80 overnights) showcasing technology and facilitating hands-on training. Ah, the good ole days of loading up, traveling, and setting up a van load of computers, laserdisc players, etc. at local school districts or community centers. . In July 2002, my work has narrowed and could easily be grouped under the “umbrellas” of project management and evaluation. Although I enjoyed the challenges and learning associated with being TIE's Project Manager, these responsibilities was transferred in July 2007 to Joe Hauge and Julie Mathiesen as part of TIE's Leadership Transition process. And starting in July 2007, the majority of my time is now spent as a Co-Director of Dakota ASSETS, a new federal grant, that is focused on helping fill teacher shortages in South Dakota high need districts and schools. TIE works in partnership with Black Hills State University, South Dakota Teach for America, Sinte Gleska University, Oglala Lakota College, and the South Dakota Department of Education.
